Biography

Bailey Bird is queer and non-binary scholar, activist, and artist. In November 2023, they graduated from their Bachelor of Arts at McGill University where they studied Honours Psychology and completed Minors in Philosophy and Gender, Sexuality, Feminist, and Social Justice (GSFS) Studies. In their freetime, Bailey enjoys watching horror movies, acting, making jewelry, and hanging out with their cats.

Bailey’s MRP will explore what scholar, Jessica L. Williams, called “The New American Freak Show”. They will critically analyze the New American Freak Show through the depictions and representations of disabled people in horror movies and investigate the societal impacts of such portrayals.
