Biography
Enis Demirer is a PhD student at the Women and Gender Studies Institute. His research interests lie in the intersection of queer theory, memory, cultural and visual studies, and the aesthetics of joy. His research at WGSI will be emphasizing joy as an aesthetic practice, following its creative expressions, and approaching it as a form of collective memory. Questions of the everyday, the archive, and subversive ways of engaging with archives have also been occupying him through his graduate studies. He is also interested in translating articles and texts on queer, gender, and sexuality related topics between English and Turkish.
