Congratulations to Zeinab Farokhi, who successfully defended her doctoral dissertation, Digital Islamophobia: A Comparison of Right-Wing Extremist Groups in Canada, the United States and India.
Zeinab was supervised by Professor Victoria Tahmasebi-Birgani, with Professors Megan Boler and Sarah Sharma as committee members. The External Examiner was Professor Jessie Daniels; Professor Jasmine Rault served as the Internal Examiner.
Dr. Farokhi will begin a two-year SSHRC-funded postdoctoral appointment at Concordia University this summer working with Professor Yasmin Jiwani, where she will begin conducting new research on a mixed-methods comparison of Hindu nationalists and white supremacists on YouTube.
