The Community Knowledge Alliance (CKA) fund is meant to galvanize, encourage, and facilitate discussions across WGSI and other sites of intellectual inquiry and knowledge production such as non- profit settings, workplaces, grassroots social movements, municipal, provincial, national, international, and transnational government settings, universities, and sites and forms of cultural production including musical, literary, visual, or performance.
Applications will be assessed by the CKA committee, which is normally composed of three WGSI faculty members and one graduate student who allocate an annual budget of $15,000. Normally, at least two projects are funded; we are interested in supporting as many projects as feasible, and welcome proposals requiring modest support, as well as those which may require more robust funding.
Applications must have at least one member of a community group and one WGSI faculty member (this includes affiliate faculty). Project proposals are to be a maximum of two pages, including these four items: (1) a program description and rationale, (2) a list of applicants, (3) student involvement, and (4) a budget.
