Biography
Adésólá is a PhD student at the Women and Gender Studies Institute. She holds an MA in International Development and a BA in Law. She is interested in feminist phenomenologies and the ways in which social relations under capitalism reproduce oppressions and hegemonies globally. Her doctoral research traces the trajectories of Nigerian migrant women in the Middle East. She aims to build on Marxist-feminist theories to investigate the economic policies and the necropolitical underpinnings that create the conditions necessary for the exploitation of migrant labour. She is also interested in the histories of Yoruba empires and colonial resistance in West Africa.
