Biography
Sophie Pepper is a Master’s student at the Women and Gender Studies Institute. She intends to focus her research on critical phenomenology and its relation to gender, sexuality and identity. She is particularly interested in the embodied experiences of individuals who navigate a heightened awareness of their bodies as “other” or “out of place” in a westernized and colonial environment. Rooted in lived experience and a passion for inclusion and empowerment, Sophie hopes to bridge gaps between theory and embodied realities.
